Two large wooden weights drive the time and cuckoo. It is hand crafted with wood from the Black Forest in Germany. The clock sounds once on the half hour and sounds the full hour on the hour. A night shut-off mechanism disables the cuckoo during sleeping hours. To wind your clock, firmly pull the free ends (ring ends) of the chains to raise the weights to the base of the clock. Eight-day clocks need to be rewound weekly.
